Material first.
Natural fibres, chosen for how they feel and how they age. We work with mills we know by name, and we never substitute a fabric to meet a price.

MODE DE VIE is French for “way of life.” The name came before the clothes — a reminder that what we wear is part of how we choose to live.
01 — Our story
MODE DE VIE began in a small Florida studio with a simple question: what would we keep, if we only kept what we loved? Not a trend, not a season — the pieces we reached for without thinking.
The answer was always the same. A shirt that softens with wear. A coat with room to move. A dress that needs nothing added. Clothes that let the person wearing them be the point.
We start with the fabric. Linen from a mill we visit each spring, wool that holds its shape, silk with a quiet weight. Then we cut, sample, adjust and cut again — often for months — until the piece feels inevitable.
Our collections are deliberately small. We would rather make twelve things we believe in than forty we don't. This is slower, and it is the only way we know how to work.
A note from the studio
“We wanted to make the clothes we kept reaching for — the ones that never asked for attention.”

02 — How we work
01
Natural fibres, chosen for how they feel and how they age. We work with mills we know by name, and we never substitute a fabric to meet a price.
02
Room through the body, a shoulder that sits where it should, a hem that works with the shoes you already own. Considered, not complicated.
03
Limited runs, made close to home, with the time to finish things properly. When a piece is gone, it is gone — until we find a reason to bring it back.
03 — A short history
The first sketches, made at a kitchen table in South Florida. A wish for fewer, better things.
Months spent with mills in Italy and Japan, learning how a cloth falls before choosing it.
The house is registered in Florida, and the first samples are cut in the studio.
Twelve pieces, released slowly. The beginning of a longer conversation.
04 — The atelier
A small studio, a long table, and a rail of samples. This is where every piece is cut, pinned, and argued over until it is right.
